ABOUT ME

Amy Goffstein, MA, RMHCI
I'm Amy Goffstein, a therapist based in Sarasota, Florida. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. I specialize in psychodynamic psychotherapy and utilize evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). With couples I use principles from the Gottman Method and EFT. My practice integrates current research in mental health with a deep commitment to ethical, client-centered treatment. I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, relational distress, trauma, and life transitions, offering a structured yet compassionate therapeutic process. My approach is informed by the DSM-5-TR diagnostic framework, Florida mental health regulations, and ongoing professional development. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is both clinically sound and emotionally attuned—where clients feel safe, respected, and empowered to pursue meaningful change.
